The Art of Delegation

A way to get back to what you love

Delegation is an art form, getting it right is a master stroke that frees up time and mind space in disproportionate relationship to the work actually delegated. Indeed someone said to me the other day. This particular task takes me about three hours a week, but I spend four hours trying not to do it whilst I pick up the file, put it back down again, shuffle it around and manage to find something else to do instead.

At Virtual PA Co, we invest our time to help you hand over what we know is precious to you. It bodes well for better delegation, better service from us to you and from you to your clients and longer term relationships.

Having a process in mind, setting expectations and taking time to brief and train your Virtual PA is vital. That’s why you get much better value from a service which offers a combination of call answering with VA services such as diary management, social media, newsletter production and email marketing, enquiry handling and credit control from a named small team.

In truth, when you decide to delegate, whether via your own recruitment or as a virtual solution (which is often far more cost-effective and hassle free) what you’re looking for is peace of mind and freedom from doing stuff which makes you sigh. The upside is you can get back to doing what you love and be infused again with the joy of doing all that made you set up your business in the first place.

Our founder, Gail Thomas is also producing a white paper on the economic impact of successful delegation and so if you could spare the time to answer 6 quick questions on the topic, we’d all be very grateful.
